Hooray new card came today....BUT!!!

Well after waiting so long for my new debit card it eventually arrived today.  It said it was ready to use just sign the back.  I duly did this and went off to meet my friend Lilian in town.  I decided to pay my credit card with M&S off as I'd been using it instead.  I entered my pin and it said wrong pin.  I tried again, but no joy.  Obviously my card was not ready to use.... I still need to get a new pin obviously..... How long is that going to take I wonder!!!!
Only good thing from this is I have a healthy bank balance.....
Happy new year to everyone.

No new card until January now!!!

Was in the bank today and they found that no one had ordered a new debit card when they cancelled the old one.  All the time I have been expecting it, it would never have come.  Now I should get it on the 2nd of January.  Not holding my breath!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still no money!!!

I can't believe I still haven't received my new debit card.  If it doesn't arrive tomorrow it will be at least Wednesday before I get it.
One good thing is that I haven't been able to spend any money.
Finished work today for 2 weeks.  Looking forward to a relaxing time.
Got my lottery tickets for tonight's Euromillion's draws.  Hope I am lucky but not holding out much hope.
Merry Christmas to everyone.

This year's Christmas disaster!!

Got a call from my bank yesterday afternoon saying they would like to discuss some transactions on my account.  It turned out that someone had tried several times to buy things on my Debit Card.  The amount was £1030.00!!!  Guess what the bank did?  They cancelled my card!!!!  So no card to finish my Christmas shopping and I can only get cash if I go into the bank with photo ID.  Not easy when you are working  Can't believe it.

Cute wobble santa card

Here is a christmas card I made using the cute santa colletion from Digistamp Boutique.  I coloured it using my promarkers.  I used coordinations paper for the background, which I embossed with a new christmas embossing folder I bought at the SECC recently.  I used the sand it gadget and dust buddy to reveal the core colour.  I then cut out the image and added an action wobble so he will move.

Close to my heart stamp project

I enjoyed making this card.  It has a shadow as the sun was shining in the window when I took the photo.  I coloured with my spectrum noir and put wire for the antenna.

Cottonball Capers samples

Someone on Crafttelly.com forum asked about the cotton capers cd and if it was suitable for people other than kids. The answer to this is yes.  I make samples for Doolicraft via Lynda Chapman at Cupcake Crafting.  I was asked sometime ago to make samples and you can view them here:http://s283.photobucket.com/albums/kk288/susydan/Cotton%20Capers/

Wicked Witch..........

My good friend Bev sent me this Close to my Heart stamp set.  The girls at my school card making club want to make a halloween card at the next class at the end of October, so this set has come in very handy.  I adapted a design I saw on a blog using my Daisy and Dandelion cd to print the paper.  I used my promarkers to colour the socks and hat.

All white embossed card!!

This is one of the cards I had the girls make at craft class tonight.  I saw a maple leaf version similar to this on the internet.  Thank you whoever it was.
I used my Stampin' up bird on a branch punch and a bubbles embossing folder.
I used pearl card to give it a sheen.  I stamped with pumice distress ink.  I couldn't find my 'With Sympathy' stamp so had to use thinking of you instead.  It would make a nice sympathy card.

Cupcake crafting new Paws cd

The new Paws cd from cupcake crafting launches today on create and craft at 11am and 2pm. Schools here have a long weekend starting today, 4 days off, so I will be able to watch the shows live. I made my samples some time ago so it will be nice to see them again.
I was out with the girls last night for tea, then to the cinema to see Jane Eyre. This was the second time I had been in to see it. I am lying in bed having not long woken up. It's nice just to relax for a wee while before getting up.

Christmas is coming!!!!

I saw a version of this card on the internet.  I used my grand nestablities to make the scalloped card. Next time I think I will cut them out using my gypsy and E2.  I embossed the blue card with an embossing folder on my cuttlebug.  I glittered the edges with my quickie glue pen.  I used my snowflake die to cut the snowflake from glitter card.  The sentiments I made on my silhouette, printed them with my laser jet printer, then cut them out, then foiled them with my foiling machine.  The stamp is from The Stampman.  I stamped and embossed the larger snowman from the set but then decided the smaller one looked better.  I coloured it with my Spectrum Noir pens.  Let me know whether you like the large or small snowman version.
The finished card measures 4.5" (11.5cm)

New sofa trauma!!!!

Joined together photos of sofa
Got our sofa last night a day early.

Good job it came when it did as John would not have coped with the delivery on his own.

They said the main piece would not fit through the door and into the house and I would need to get a joiner to take the window out!

Luckily one of my son's friends dad is a joiner and only lives a few doors away. He came up and took the window out. They got the largest piece in ok, I said did they want to take the remaining 2 pieces in through the window while it was out and they said no the other pieces would come in the door no problem, so the joiner put the window back in and went home.
They got the smaller end piece in ok and then tried to get the corner piece in. It took them 10 mins to get it through the door. They then couldn't get it into the lounge as the angle of the door and the staircase was too narrow. They then asked for the joiner to come back again!! I said they should've taken it all in the window the first time. The joiner arrived and couldn't get in the front door as they had jammed the corner unit in the door trying to get it out. He went round to the back door and came in that way. He took the window out again and then had to take the front door off too to get the corner piece out again!! Eventually we had a lovely new sofa sitting in our lounge.
Nightmare, took them an hour.
I had been making white chocolate fudge and cheesecakes for my birthday today to take to work when they phoned so had to stop everything until they had finished.  Not a good mix baking and sofa deliveries!!

Thomas Kinkade bookmarks

I bought the Thomas Kinkade cd set from Joanna Sheen when it launched some time ago.  I decided after watching Create and Craft today and seeing Joanna using it again I would have a go at something.  I decided to have a go at some corner bookmarks.  Hopefully appealing to the male readers out there. Here are a couple I made.  I found a picture of a page of a book which I printed out so they could be packaged like they were in a book.  I cropped the images and used my nestabilities to cut them out and make a mat.

Pirates Ahoy!!!

I bought this stamp at the Summer Crafting fair in Doncaster.  I saw a similar card online and decided to have a go at it.  I designed the skull paper using a free skull clip art image.  The map was also a free clip art image.  I used my new Spectrum Noir pens to colour the image which is from Lili of the Valley.  The pens were good except I had a job getting the lids off and I don't have any dexterity problems.

House Mouse Christmas Card

I bought this House Mouse stamp when I was at the Doncaster Summer Crafting show.  I decided to try colouring it today.  It was quite quick and easy.  I used a quickie glue pen and glitter for the snow.  The promarker colours I used were - sandstone and blush for the mouse,  pink carnation and satin for the birds and sandstone and satin for the branches.  I used the sandstone promarker to ink the edges of my mats so they toned in.  I used vintage photo distress ink on the edges of the image.

Make a gift bag..

A lovely easy gift bag for small gifts.  I made one of these bags at a Stampin' Up party where the consultant who did the demonstration was Elaine Brainwood.  Below are the instructions and video to make this bag.

Materials
14cm x 29.0cm piece of decorative card
9.5cm square piece of contrasting card
2cm strip of contrasting card (border punch one edge)
Piece of contrast for tabs
Ribbon
Tab punch (I used Stampin up round tab punch)

Instructions
Score 1.5cm on each side of the 9.5cm square.
Clip one line on each corner, fold on score lines, glue or tape corners and form a box.
Glue or tape around bottom of box and wrap decorative paper around.  Stop short of joining and glue or tape the vertical edge then attach last piece.  Attach decorative 2cm strip around the bottom.
Your bag is formed.
Now punch 2 tabs.  Fold in half.  Place one either side of the bag.  Punch a hole in each and thread ribbon through and tie. (Fill with gift first)
Make a tag and decorate as required.

Mini Milk carton video project without sizzix die!!

Here is a mini milk carton I made as a sample for a Create and Craft show.  I used a sizzix die to make this which was really easy as you can imagine.  A lady emailed Lynda Chapman asking for instructions on how to make it.

Here are instructions and video on how to make this project if you don't own a sizzix mini milk carton die.

Materials
Garden Delights Cd from www.cupcakecrafting.co.uk (or any card stock or cd you want to use)
1 A4 piece of card (printed with any design you wish from the Cd)
Embellishments from the Cd to decorate.
Instructions

Cut card to 17cm x 12.7cm (Dashed lines are score lines and solid lines are cut lines.)
Mark along top and bottom edges at 4cm, 8cm, 12cm and 16cm.  Score down joining marks.
Down the sides working from the bottom up mark at 4cm, 9cm and 12.0cm.  Score across joining lines.
Mark on narrow score line at top at 2cm, 6cm, 10cm and 14cm.
Score diagonal line from 2cm mark to right corner as shown.  Continue with remaining squares.  Square 1 and 3 only have one score line and 2 and 4 have two score lines.  At the top of the intersection of square 2 and 4 score a line across narrow piece.
Cut away bottom right corner as indicated in picture.    Rub away all marks.  At the bottom cut along score lines to first horizontal score line at bottom (as shown in picture).
Fold all score lines.  Sides of carton are mountain folds and diagonal folds are valley folds.
Tape flap and attach to the inside of the corresponding side.
Stick bottom flaps together.
Now fold in top diagonals.
Decorate as desired and fill with various gift ideas.
You can seal it closed or use a paperclip or similar embellishment.
