First project with Forever Friends cds!!

My first project using my Forever Friends cds.
Running of the cds was easy and simple, although I don't like the way you have to save the design before you print it. I don't necessarily want to keep the layout for future use. Just gives extra work, then have to delete the file when you've finished. Don't like having to put in and out the cds either.
That's why I have used my graphics programme to design this card. Only downside is that you don't have access to all the files on the cd. The greetings section and the tags and frames section are not accessible unless you use the programme....... You can't copy and paste either so if you resize an image and want to duplicate it several times you can't. You need to manually resize each one you take in. I was able to crop the image that was on the side of this paper so I could just use the background. I was also able to make a mat of card the exact colour as the border image. I tried making this card with the programme once I'd finished making it. Much easier I felt with the graphics programme.

My ankle is slowly on the mend, getting the right position in bed is difficult. I have been trying to walk on it today, but it is aching. When I try to move onto the ball of my foot I get a pain up the back of my lower leg and at the front of my leg. Trying to keep it elevated as much as possible and using ice packs on it as advised by the doctor. I am getting really restless not being able to move around freely. Managed to get downstairs without too much discomfort to make this card for you. Don't know when I will brave the stairs for the next post.

Painful expedition!!

Yesterday was the Stampinup day at the Treetops Hotel. I had been looking forward to this for several weeks and didn't want to miss it. A friend picked me up, so door to door transport. I then gritted my teeth for the short walk to the room which fortunately was just inside the main entrance. It was a great afternoon..... we made 2 projects. A lovely little bird card and a 6 x 6 scrapbook page.
Hope they have another day like this soon...... hopefully I will get there under my own steam next time.
This is me as bridesmaid at my twin sister's wedding back in October 1982, I was just a young teenager then!!

Accidents will happen!!

Lying in bed today resting my leg! While practicing school sports with my class, I slipped and fell. I landed up in casualty where they diagnosed torn ligaments. I have to rest it completely until about Sunday. No crafting for me then! Two flights of stairs to my craft room!! Getting to the loo when required is a major expedition! Have a Stampinup day tomorrow so hoping my husband will take me up and hoping the hotel has a wheel chair so I don't have to walk. The bandage is on until Tuesday night. Will go see the doctor on Monday and see what they think about when I will get back to work.
On a happy note, I had the second craft club at work on Wednesday. We had 5 kids this time and they all seemed to enjoy themselves. They managed to make 3 cards and learned how to fold an origami shirt.
Gave in and bought the new Docrafts Daisy and Dandelion CD set. Just waiting for it to come.
Hope to post something as soon as I am able.
Bye for now.

New Popcorn Kids set

Received my popcorn kids cd and stamps today. Have cut out the stamps and put them in my ziplock bags. Not looked at the cd yet. Will have a play later. Stampinup are having a stamping event at a local hotel here at the end of the month. I have booked my place along with 8 of my friends so hopefully it should be a fun Saturday afternoon.

Spending again!!

Went to a stampinup party last night at a friends house. Made this lovely card. Spent a fortune as usual. Bought new Melon Mambo card stock, polka dot ribbon and inkpad, as well as some other colours of cardstock and a stamp set. Just before I went to the party I placed my order for Popcorn the bear Kids collection. Good job I won £10 on the lottery this week!! Maybe tonight I will be lucky again!!

Just a piece of scrap!!

After a long tiring week I have not done much crafting. Have to make a 15 page 30th birthday card for someone at work. Have managed to do 5 pages so far. I have until the 25th or so to get it finished.
I had parents night Tuesday end on to the day and tonight. Yesterday we also had an open evening end on to the day. Then I had bowling. It was freezing, my hands were so cold I could hardly hold my bowl. Our rink drew after a good game, but the other half of our team on the other rink got hammered. We still managed to pick up one point though.
Tomorrow night I am going to a Stampinup party at one of my friends. Got a list ready of items I would like to get.
Managed however to make this little sweet card from a few scraps left over from previous projects and used my new design runner to add the sentiment. Think I will take a while to master where it is going to print on the paper, this was my second attempt. First attempt I lost the end of birthday off the edge of the page!!
Paper is from Crafters Companion Girls cd and the digital stamp is from digistampboutique.
Hope you like it........

Have a go project!! May

Exploding Box

You will need:

Scraps of card or papers for mounts, stickers, peel offs, die cuts, etc. 1 Sheet of 260gsm card printed on one side and 3 A4 sheet of 260gsm card in white printed on both sides. (Print choice is yours or just use plain card and decorate.) I used Chris Warner Stamp Companion 1 cd for the card base.

Cut your pieces of card for the box to 21cm square, 18cm square and 15cm. Now score 7cm in on all 4 sides of large piece, 6cm on 18cm piece and 5cm on 15cm piece. Cut out the corners.

Fold on your score lines to form the sides of the box.

Decorate your box at this stage.
Cut mounts of card or decorated paper if desired.

Tape or glue the bottom of the two inner boxes and stick inside from largest to smallest.

To make the lid cut your remaining piece of card to 11.3cm square. Score 2cm around each side. Cut on corner line only to form the flaps to tape or glue the lid together.

Put the lid on and your done.
