About Me

My Photo
Aberdeen, United Kingdom
Hello all. I am a Nursery Nurse working with special needs children within a main stream school and love it. I have worked as a NN for 33 years and wouldn't change for anything. I have always crafted in some way or another since the age of 7. At present I do a bit of patchwork and quilting, jewellery making and card making. I run a craft class once a month in my house for 10 of my friends. I also run a card making class at the school for a handful of children once a month.

Sparkly elastic bracelet

I bought some beads from Bead spider when I was at the NEC at the weekend and made this elastic bracelet.  The beads are Swarovski crystals 8mm and some nice spacers.

Chameleon pens and Elizabeth Bell 'Daisy' Stamp

This is my second colouring project with my new Chameleon pens.
This stamp is called Daisy and was designed by Elizabeth Bell. It used to be sold by Sugar Nellie. I don't know where you can buy it now.

NEC purchases....

We flew down on Friday night and spent 2 full days at the craft show.  Went with a list but as usual bought lots more.  This is our 3rd November visit to the show.  We have now learned that you go straight to the workshops when the doors open to have any chance of participating.  We had 4 workshops on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. Here are a few photos of the weekend.

Whitehall invitational Pairs bowling competition Aberdeen

I went up to watch the Whitehall invitational Pairs bowling competition on Wednesday night. I was approached by a woman who asked if I could partner her in the last round on the Friday and Saturday as her partner was away on holiday. I agreed.
I came along to play the first game on Friday night and David Gourlay was sitting in the club house. I didn't realise that the Scottish bowls teams were taking part.
On Saturday I met Darren Burnett with his Commonwealth gold medal.
We did well and finished 3/5 in our group and 6/15 overall. Our last game was against some of the Scotland ladies  team and we beat them by 1 shot.
It was a great experience even though it rained all day Saturday.
