Another quilting project in progress!

This is the current project I am working on. It is for my son's room. He chose the fabrics for the boxer shorts himself. Not sure when this quilt will actually get finished. It takes quite a while to layer up and quilt a project. I have several projects ongoing, it's finding the time that I find difficult. With having so many interests sometimes things get put on the back burner. Also my local quiliting shop has just closed. I used to go there twice a month to meet up with other quilters and complete projects.

Don't forget about Dad!!

With my husband's birthday and Father's day looming I decided to make a card in plenty of time. Still seem to be in a purple mood at the moment. All papers and car decoupage are from 'Are these for the guys' cd from Papercraftworld .
Hope you like it.........

New Goodies!!

Today I received my new carts for my cricut machine. Create a Critter which looks fab and Nursery Rhymes. I also received my set of 4 seasons promarkers which I got on a special deal from Little Claire.
I have nearly 1800 cricut points and decided to cash them in. Put 3 carts, a lanyard and a car sticker in my basket. When I went to checkout it said Provocraft assumes NO responsibility for any/all country fees, duties or taxes associated with this order. Do NOT proceed with your order if you are unwilling/unable to cover these costs. Not sure whether to complete the order or not. Don't want to have to pay tax at customs. Items are costing me nothing so shouldn't have to pay anything really. What a Dilemma!
Will have to contemplate this one........

Not Just Cards!!

Thought I would let you see some of my patchwork and quilting projects I have completed over the years. The cream and brown one was raffled last year for a local cancer chartiy and raised £350.00. Love my kids quilt with the animals on it can't bear to give it away. The teddy quilt was a present for a friends first baby. The christmas crackers went down well although found it hard to find things small enough to fit inside. Finally the coaster set was for a friends birthday.

What a long day!! Chilling now!!

It's been a long day today. Got to work at 7.30am as usual. After a busy morning I made a Noah's Ark for the wall in school with the kids. Then we had our weekly staff meeting until 4.30pm.
Luckily a colleague who lives in my street gave me a lift home so no waiting around for 2 buses tonight!
Had tea and then decided to check my emails. I had an email from Jayne Nestorenko complementing me on the card I made last night with her new stamps. Thanks Jayne.
Decided to make another from the same stamp range. Made it without a character this time. The stamps still work very well on their own.
Stamp sets used: Patchwork square, triangle and flowers from Helene. Thinking or you sentiment flower from Polly.

Backing paper from Crafters Companion cd Florals 1.

Jayne Nestorenko is so talented!!

Couldn't wait to start using my new Patchwork Polly stamps from Jayne Nestorenko.
Thought I'd share this pop open card with you that I have just finished making.
Stamp set used was Chloe.
Backing papers Papercraftworld cds.

Off to bed now............................

WHAT A NICE SURPRISE !! Ooooh what can I buy!!

Just come home from visiting my mum and dad.
Dad won £1120 on the lottery on the 17th April. He had 5 numbers on one ticket and 3 numbers on another.
He decided to share! I received £100 and my son £50. My sister and my niece received the same.
Oooh! What can I buy......more craft stuff I am feeling!!
Thanks Dad.

After uploading my first video yesterday I got crafting with the popping nestability designs I had created and made this card.
The image is from Digistampboutique.
Papers are from cds at Papercraftworld Jo's hearts and flowers and the background paper from a free members download.
The sentiment is a stamp from Jayne Nestorenko's Patchwork Polly Chloe stamp set.

How would you like to use any design, any size with any nestability die just like the ones in the pictures. Now you can.
This is a new technique I learned today. I thought I would make my very first video tutorial for you to watch. Hope you enjoy it. Please let me know if it's easy to follow so I can make my next video soon.

Pretty in Peach!!

A card I made tonight with the polkadot backing paper, cupcake border and parcel embellishements from the Forever Friends cd. The mouse image is from http://www.digistampboutique.co.uk/ and is coloured with promarkers.

Forever Friends Cds Update

Hi, I received my Forever Friends cds today. Installed the programme cd and created a layout on the screen. I went to print out what I had created and it told me I had to save it as a pdf file. Clicked to save then I had to put in the relevant image cd before I could save and print.
You need to save everything you do to the computer before you can print instead of just hitting a print button.
I can see why my friend was getting annoyed with it.
I decided to use my paint shop pro programme to see what I could do with them on there.
You can access all the images from the cds but not all the sentiments.
I can't really see me using the disks with the actual programme unless I want to use a specific sentiment. I will continue to use them through psp. I don't want to keep saving every little thing I create as I may not want to keep it. It's a hassle to keep deleting things once you've printed them.
On a final note the images are lovely and there are some great backing papers.

Have a go project!! April

You will need a 15cm square card and contrasting papers of your choice. I used a selection of papers from http://www.papercraftworld.com/ 'Crafting Classics - Pastel' cd.

Cut your base paper to 14.5cm square. Use a contrasting ink to add a shadow border for definition.

Stamp a sentiment in the bottom left corner.

Cut your next paper to 12cm x 5cm and ink the edges as before.

Cut your 3rd paper to 8cm x 8cm.

To make the shaker I used one of Chris' fool proof frames from the cd.

Attach an 8cm x 8cm piece of acetate to the back of the frame. Place a border of foam tape around the back making sure you leave no gaps.

Put some sequins, glitter or beads in the centre. Cover with another piece of acetate. Now add your small square paper to the back of the acetate so it shines through.

Attach your base paper to the card. Then your smaller strip to the right. And finally your shaker element to the centre.

I used a few gem stones to the left top corner to finish.

Been a bit extravagant!!

I have been a bit extravagant this week and ordered the new Patchwork Polly stamps from Jayne Nestorenko. Today they arrived. They are lovely.
Have just finished cutting out each plate and can't wait to try them out.
I also bought the Forever Friends cds from Docrafts. These have not arrived yet and I am anxious to see how they print off.
My friend Sheila received her set today. She is not impressed with them as every time you want to print a design you have to put in the image disk. She says that you install the programme disk, but then if you choose an image to print you have to insert the relevant disk. She is fed up swapping disks in and out already. I'm sure there must be an easier way to use them and will investigate when they arrive. Hopefully they will come in the next day or two. If anyone else has these disks I would be interested to hear what they think.

I took a basket of my handmade cards to work the other day and put them in the staffroom. Today I sold 3.

On Wednesday 28th April I am starting a cardmaking club with the older children in the school I work at. I have 7 children signed up to come so far. They will be making 2 cards (shown below). I hope they enjoy making them and come again next month. It will only last 1 hour so have to keep the projects easy and quick. I will let you know how it goes next week.
The frog card is using Chameleon Card Craft cd and the duck card is from Popcorn Bear cds by Crafters Companion.

Lovely Pyramid Gift Box!

Found this template on the internet. It makes a lovely little unusual gift box for jewellery or a few chocolates.......
The stick is made from a kebab skewer and covered with matching paper. You can have it all in one colourway or with a contrasting closure as seen above.

DOGGONE!!!!! TASTY!!!

I made this box with attached squash card as a sample for a Create and Craft tv show featuring the 'Crafting Classics' cds by Chris Warner. I filled the box with chocolates to show that it could be given as a small gift. Lynda took the samples to the show safely. Unfortunately when she got home her Old English Sheep dog Rosie decided that something in her samples smelled nice and she duly ate the card box and chocolates!!
I'm sure she enjoyed the chocolates better than the card and paper.
Will make this box again some day and make sure there are no dogs in sight!!
FISHING AROUND!!!!

A card this time for the men in your lives....
Backing papers and tag are printed from 'Shabby 'n' Chic' cd by Chris Warner http://www.papercraftworld.com/ sentiment was added to the tag using your graphics programme.
The stamps are by Creative Expressions http://www.expressrubberstamps.co.uk/ called 'Fishing Basket' and 'Hanging Fish'.
It's so difficult trying to make cards for men so hopefully this has given you some ideas.

First day back at work today. Passed very quickly. The good weather helped too. Ordered my Beatrix Potter new cd and stamp collections today ahead of the launch this coming weekend. Must admit I've not used the first set yet.
Relaxed after tea and started crafting and made this purple themed card. I used one of the digistampboutique stamps again, and a selection of printable papers.
Going to have a nice hot relaxing bath now.
Chat soon.

I got my cricut cutting done this morning and after lunch Dan and I went a walk along the Deeside line and then back along the River Dee. We had a McFlurry in Asda and then went home.As promised last night I made a card from the digi stamp I coloured the other day.

Another colouring day!

Awoke this morning to find that I had sold some more of my coloured stamped images. So I have been busy colouring them for posting. I just love my promarkers, could colour all day. I have quite a selection now. I'm sure I'll need some more soon!!
Love this digital stamp image from http://www.digistampboutique.co.uk/ I will be making another card with this very soon, watch this space.
Digital stamps are great as you can print them any size you want.
It was a lovely day today, very warm. I changed into my lighter jacket and I have turned off my heating. I hope I won't need to put the heating back on or revert to my warmer jacket any time soon.
Got some cricut cutting to do tomorrow which will be a change from all my stamping and colouring of late.
Remember if you have any questions about the cricut, gypsy or design studio I am only too happy to help you.
Off to bed now, night.

Friday, 9 April 2010

It's late on Thursday night. I have been colouring with promarkers most of the night to be prepared for the sales of my stamped images on ebay. Have sold 3 sheets of the coloured knights, and have a bid on the Kanban cupcake stamped images.
To wind down I decided to make a card with my new stampin'up 'Lovely as a tree' stamp set I received today. The sentiment was also from a stampin'up stamp set called 'Wonderful Words'.
Hope you like it.
Off to bed now, chat again later.
Toppers only are available on my ebay page. See link to the right.

What a lovely day!

What a good feeling it was to wake up to a gloriously sunny day. I did a little housework then took my lunch and the boys off to the beach. We had a nice walk along the prom and then into town for afternoon tea.
Daniel had an eye test today which we thought would only take 40 mins tops but turned out to be a mega 1 hour 40 mins. They were running late!

We got home and had tea and then I decided to do a bit of crafting.

Using one of my http://www.digistampboutique.co.uk/ stamps I made an anniversary card. I used my cuttlebug embossing folder to give texture to the top piece of card. And used my pro markers to colour the image. Hope you like it.

I then watched the final of Masterchef which was fab and was glad to see that Dhruv won. I will never be able to cook like that, especially under that amount of pressure.
Here's hoping for a nice day again tomorrow.

Lovely guy.
Was only too happy to pose for this photo.

Holiday Disaster!!

We went on holiday to Eyemouth on Saturday. We stopped off in Perth and I had a look in the Stampaholics shop. I found some lovely new stamps from Magnolia Stamps. I had taken some inks and acrylic blocks with me thanks goodness. We arrived at the caravan, it was a lovely day! Sunday was cold and overcast. I stamped some of the new images, they were lovely. Monday and Tuesday it rained constantly all day and night with gale force winds too. Thanks goodness for craft! I had taken my pro markers with me and used them to colour my images. Love these images to bits they are so cute. Spent most of the time colouring the full sheets of images I had stamped. After 4 sleepless nights of cold and rain and the thought that the caravan was going to take off into space, we decided on Wednesday morning to come home early. Stopped in Dunfermline to see my friend Sheila and had to stamp some of the images for her too.

Colours of pro markers I used to colour the:

Elephant - Cool Grey 1 and 4 (for the knees) and Ivory.

Monkey - Cinnamon and Vanilla

Lion - Cinnamon, Vanilla, Henna and Ivory.

Shading was achieved by over colouring in the same colour.
First card made with the stamps.
